Module 5 focuses on conflict interventions
in the theatre of conflict, including peacekeeping, peace support operations, post-conflict
reconstruction and development, focusing on the Southern African Development Community (SADC)
region.
The module seeks to examine the major trends that have an impact on peace support operations
(PSOs) in Africa, in general, and more specifically in the SADC region. The Module will provide an
opportunity to reflect on the changing nature of conflict in Africa and to examine how PSOs are being
affected by this dynamic.
